Intentional Living

For those that know me well it won’t come as a shock when I say that while I do very much believe in God, or the Universe, or whatever title you wish to give the higher power you believe in, I do not believe in organized religion.  There are too many inconsistencies, or requests for blind faith, and don’t get me started on the amount of violence done in the name of religion.

Instead I believe in intentional living.  To earn respect you must be respectful, to earn kindness you must first be kind, to earn support you must be supportive.  I believe very much that if you want more of anything you must first be thankful for what you already have, and celebrate those who have what you want instead of letting jealousy poison your desires.

Law of Attraction, Karma, Wicca…the idea of reaping what you sow, getting what you give…it’s so simple and that’s what makes it so difficult.  Take away all the judgements, all the rules, the fire and brimstone…what if, very simply, you were responsible for your reality?  That everything that ever “happened to you” was simply because you attracted it to you?  It would certainly be easier to blame the other guy, or some predetermined destiny, or God, but what if it was all you?

Could you own that if you knew taking that ownership would allow you to change the circumstances?

Trust me, I’m the first one to say “don’t push your beliefs on me”, but I’ve been searching for an outlet for my thoughts, my research and my own attempts to take ownership of my life.  Maybe even find like minded people to talk to and share with.

If you visit often enough you’ll find me posting recipes, or funny anecdotes, or vacation photos, or you may find me ruminating on living intentionally, defining my wants and goals, and attracting the life I want to have.

In the end it’s my blog and I’ll write what I wish to write, and you can chose to read it or walk away, I’m pretty easy going like that.
